The
Machu Picchu Program (PMP), was created as a result
of a debt for nature swap between governments of Peru and
Finland, implemented by a Peruvian institution in charge of
executing the components of the Integrated Management
Program of the HSMP, PROFONANPE - National Fund for
Natural Protected Areas. The funds created as a result of
this agreement of renegotiation of the foreign debt between
the governments of Finland and Peru, assigned to the execution
of the Integral Management Program of Machu Picchu or Machu
Picchu Program, through the implementation agreement subscribe
in March 1997 and modified by the Project Document for its
Ending Phase of (2000-2002) in August 2000, that re-programs
